Founded in 2003 by Clint Borgen, The Borgen Project is a nonprofit organization that aims to address extreme poverty by advocating for poverty-reducing legislation and mobilizing global support. They meet with U.S. Congressional leaders, educate citizens on advocacy, and raise awareness through online and community presence. It is headquartered in Tacoma, WA.

The article sources information from reputable sources such as New York Times, ABC News Australia, breakthrough energy.org, Gates Foundation, and Foreign Policy.
