History

Founded in 1919, The Century Foundation is a progressive, nonpartisan think tank that seeks to foster opportunity, reduce inequality, and promote security at home and abroad. According to their about page “Over our long history, we have been at the forefront of positive change in some of the most critical areas of domestic and foreign policy. Today, TCF continues this legacy by researching issues that range from pursuing fairness and opportunity in education; protecting workers and further strengthening the social safety net; encouraging democracy and ensuring personal rights in the tech age, and promoting stability and prosperity abroad.”

Analysis / Bias

In review, The Century Foundation advocates for “progressive ideas that benefit the public good.” They achieve this through research such as this How Minneapolis Ended Single-Family Zoning. This research consists of over 100 citations from credible sources. The website also features a section called publications that sometimes uses emotional wording such as this: Attacking the Black–White Opportunity Gap That Comes from Residential Segregation. This story is also very well sourced.

Editorially, The Century Foundation aligns with the progressive wing of the Democratic Party, supporting income equality, fighting climate change, race and inequality and promotion of unions.
