Analysis / Bias

Lucid demonstrates a strong Left bias through consistently anti-Trump, anti-authoritarian, and anti-right-wing framing combined with highly favorable portrayals of progressive democratic activism. Coverage routinely associates modern conservative populism, nationalism, and MAGA politics with fascism, authoritarianism, white supremacy, and democratic collapse.

For example, Elections as Tools of Autocracy and White Supremacy characterizes the U.S. Supreme Court as “the vehicle of the crusade to end American democracy” and repeatedly frames conservative election policies as mechanisms of authoritarian racial oppression. Similarly, (Techno)Fascists: Racism, Surveillance, and Biopolitics Will Save Civilization labels technology leaders and conservative political movements as “technofascists,” while portraying companies such as Palantir and figures including Elon Musk as participants in authoritarian projects.

Additionally, No to Kings, Yes to Leadership Rooted in Communities presents progressive protest movements and anti-Trump activism in overwhelmingly favorable terms while characterizing conservative governance as racist, corrupt, autocratic, and oppressive. The language frequently employs emotionally loaded terminology such as “white supremacy,” “fascism,” “technofascism,” and “authoritarian capture.”

Although articles are generally supported by citations to mainstream outlets such as Reuters, The Washington Post, CNN, and academic research, reporting and analysis are strongly interpretive and ideological. Factual information is usually accurate and sourced; however, the publication consistently frames political developments through a progressive democracy-versus-authoritarianism lens with minimal ideological balance.
