History

Fusion is a media company that has a TV station and a website now rebranded as Splinter. Fusion’s primary focus is on on pop culture and occasionally hard news.  Fusion also publishes satire, which can make it difficult to tell which is real or not.

Fusion TV is a part of Splinter, which is owned by G/O Media Inc. which is a media company that runs GizmodoKotakuJezebelThe Onion and other sister websites. G/O was formed in early 2019 when Great Hill Partners, a private equity firm, purchased the websites from Univision. Revenue is derived from advertising.

Analysis / Bias

In review, Fusion publishes video clips from Univision that tends to have left leaning bias in content that frequently reports negatively on President Trump. In general, video content is factual and left biased, though they cover a wide range of news and therefore fall within the left-center category.

A factual search reveals they have failed one fact check.
