According to its About page, Route Fifty connects government leaders and innovators with reporting and analysis on management, technology, policy, cybersecurity, finance, artificial intelligence, housing, transportation, and innovation.
Route Fifty launched in 2014 as Government Executive’s State & Local channel and became a standalone digital publication in 2015. In 2023, GCN, a long-running public-sector technology publication, was merged into Route Fifty to broaden its coverage of state and local decision-makers.
