History

Founded in 2002 as a daily New York City newspaper, the New York Sun became entirely online in 2008. The website publishes New York City, national, and world news from a conservative perspective. The original New York Sun was published from 1833 to 1950. The current website claims to be the successor to the original.

According to their about page, “The New York Sun covers America and the world from a base at New York. Its report comprises straightforward, unblinkered news dispatches and an editorial page that puts a premium on principles over politics and people over party.”

Seth Lipsky, the site’s founder, serves as Editor-in-Chief. He also writes for the Wall Street Journal and New York Post.
