History

The Monthly Review, established in 1949, is an independent socialist magazine published monthly in New York City. As of 2015, the publication remains the longest continuously published socialist magazine in the United States. The journal has an impact factor of 0.460. The current editor is John Bellamy Foster.

Analysis / Bias

In review, the Monthly Review publishes news and information related to Marxism, socialism, political economy, economics, social science, and philosophy. Articles and headlines often contain moderate loaded language and are well-written such as this Paul Baran’s Economic Surplus Concept, the Baran Ratio, and the Decline of Feudalism.
