Analysis / Bias

In review, Democracy Guardian is a news and opinion blog with a strong left wing bias in reporting. All articles on this website favor the left and are opposed to the right. There is significant use of loaded words in both headlines and articles. For example: Narcissist Sociopath Trump: Easy to Manipulate and Crazy is Crashing. Most articles are well researched and for the most part sourced, however, many articles are pure opinion pieces that favor the left. The two primary themes of the website are anti-Trump and anti-Bernie Sanders articles. Throughout the website there is a conspiratorial claim made that Sanders followers are a part of a cult. In general, the stories on Democracy Guardian are opinion based, but generally sourced properly.

A factual search reveals they have not been fact checked by an IFCN fact checker.

Overall, we rate Democracy Guardian Left Biased based on story selection that favors the establishment left. We also rate them Mostly Factual, rather than High, due to a lack of transparency regarding ownership and the fact that most articles are opinion based. (D. Van Zandt 2/25/2018) Updated (11/8/2019)
