Funded by / Ownership
AMSI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that operates primarily through donations and grants. It has received financial support from the Conservative Partnership Institute (CPI), a right-wing organization, which contributed $88,500 in 2022. Additionally, AMSI has reported small-scale revenues, with $9,211 in revenue and $22,711 in expenses for the fiscal year ending 2023.
The organization is affiliated with Project 2025, a policy initiative led by the Heritage Foundation, outlining a future conservative governance plan. AMSI also has ties to conservative figures, including Ed Corrigan, President of CPI, and Peter Rough, a Senior Fellow at the Hudson Institute, who serve on its Board of Directors.
Analysis / Bias
AMSI is Right Biased, as its content consistently aligns with conservative and populist perspectives. Its articles often focus on crime, government overreach, election integrity, and skepticism toward public health mandates—common themes among right-leaning media.
For example, the article “Shake Up HHS” criticizes public health policies, alleging bureaucratic corruption and incompetence while suggesting that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. would provide needed reform. Similarly, “Donald Trump and the Electoral Map” presents a favorable analysis of Trump’s electoral strategy, reinforcing the idea of his enduring political influence.
AMSI sources much of its material from mixed factual conservative publications such as City Journal, The Federalist, and The American Conservative, reinforcing its ideological slant. While some articles contain fact-based reporting, AMSI frequently frames issues in a way that supports conservative narratives, often using emotionally charged language, particularly regarding election integrity, crime, and government regulation.
