Factual Reporting: MIXED

The Resurgent is a blog run by Erick Woods Erickson who is a politically conservative radio host. He hosts the radio show Atlanta’s Evening News with Erick Erickson, broadcast on 750 WSB (AM). Previously, he served as the editor-in-chief and the CEO of the conservative political blog RedState and was a political contributor for CNN. The Resurgent blog presents news with a right-wing bias in reporting with most stories favoring the right. They also publish a lot of stories from a Christian perspective. The Resurgent typically sources to credible media sources and we could not find evidence of a failed fact check by this blog. However, Erick Erickson has a poor track record with fact-checkers. Overall, we rate The Resurgent right biased and mixed for factual reporting based on the owner’s track record with facts. (D. Van Zandt 9/2/2017)
