The Olympian - Left Center Bias - Liberal - Democrat - CredibleFactual Reporting: High - Credible - Reliable

These media sources have a slight to moderate liberal bias.  They often publish factual information that utilizes loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes) to favor liberal causes.  These sources are generally trustworthy for information, but may require further investigation. See all Left-Center sources.

Factual Reporting: HIGH
World Press Freedom Rank: USA 45/180

Notes: The Olympian is a newspaper based in Olympia, Washington, in the United States. The newspaper was founded in 1860 and currently owned by McClatchy.

In review, The Olympian covers local news and national news with minimal bias. National and international news comes from McClatchy and sometimes the Associated Press, which are both least biased sources. Editorials and Op-Eds have left-leaning bias through the use of loaded language that favors the left. For example Sessions re-declares war on 21st century. Further, based on a factual search there isn’t evidence of The Olympian ever failing a fact check. Overall, we rate The Olympian Left-Center biased based on editorial positions and High for factual reporting based on strong sourcing. (D. Van Zandt 1/13/2018)
