History
Really American is the publishing arm of Really American PAC, a left-wing Super PAC founded by political strategist Justin Horwitz. The PAC, established in 2020, identifies itself as a “grassroots political organization” that produces viral content to “protect truth, democracy, social justice, and the environment”. Its operations include digital ads, videos, and highly partisan commentary aimed at opposing Donald Trump and Republican candidates. The PAC appears largely inactive in 2024–2025 but maintains a Substack newsletter.

Funded by / Ownership
Really American is a registered Super PAC (FEC) and raises funds through donor contributions. It is classified as an independent expenditure-only committee, meaning it can spend unlimited funds but must disclose donors. Financial filings are available on OpenSecrets.
Analysis / Bias
Really American is a political advocacy outlet rather than a traditional news source. Its content is explicitly partisan, targeting Donald Trump, ICE, and Republican officials. For example, “ICE plans to disappear civilians” describes Kristi Noem’s ICE proposal as authoritarian, invoking Pinochet and “disappearing” civilians.
In “Trump cozies up to war criminals,” Trump’s meeting with Sudanese General Burhan is framed as complicity with genocide, with little nuance or opposing perspective. “Trump sinks into delusion” portrays his Nobel Prize ambitions as absurd, relying on ridicule and emotional language rather than balanced analysis.
Articles often lack hyperlinks or robust sourcing, relying instead on moral appeals and ideological framing. While the rhetoric resonates with progressive readers (“fight fascism,” “monsters holding whips”), it tends to exaggerate risk and collapse complex issues into binary good vs. evil narratives. Unlike outlets that present policy debates with multiple viewpoints, Really American amplifies only one side of the argument. It works more as mobilization and persuasion than journalism, aligning it with activist content rather than balanced reporting.
