Founded in 2008, Newsone is a news and opinion website that focuses on social issues and entertainment for an African-American audience. According to their about page, they state: “NewsOne.com is your destination for news and information for and about Blacks in America. Filled with original stories, diverse opinions, photos, videos, and polls, let NewsOne be your daily stop and make your voices heard!” It should be noted that there is not a link on the website to this about page. You must search it through Google. Further, they do not disclose editors or who is currently in charge.

Newsone is owned by IOne Digital, a digital media company that creates and distributes premium content for Urban Enthusiasts. IOne Digital owns several brands, including HipHop Wired and Global Grind. Advertising generates revenue.
Analysis / Bias
In review, Newsone publishes news related to African-American issues such as racism, police brutality and highlighting prominent black figures such as Barack Obama and Kamala Harris. News reporting is often a combination of facts and opinions interjected by the author. They do not always separate opinion pieces from straight news content. Headlines and content often contain emotionally loaded wording such as this: How Trump’s ‘Go Back,’ Racist Attacks Could Backfire At The Polls. This story is reasonably sourced to left-leaning outlets like Vox, CNN, New York Times, and the Washington Post.
Editorially, there is a strong left-leaning bias in story selection and near 100% negative reporting on the Trump administration, such as this: This Is The Donald Trump Black People Warned You About.
