Analysis / Bias
InsiderAdvantage conducts market research and polling via various mediums. The website does not generally report on politics but publishes news related to its polling.
FiveThirtyEight, an expert on measuring and rating pollster performance, has evaluated 196 polls by InsiderAdvantage, earning 2.0 stars for accuracy. They also conclude that their polling slightly favors the Right. However, they frequently do not include methodology in their polls, lowering their credibility.
MBFC finds that InsiderAdvantage is Right-Center biased and Mixed for factual reporting due to patterns of poll results that often lean Republican and, at times, fall outside the consensus. For example, one survey showed Donald Trump’s approval rating at 54%, which was 10 points higher than the RealClearPolitics average at the time. In another case, InsiderAdvantage partnered with Trafalgar Group, a Republican-aligned pollster, producing results that aligned with Trafalgar’s more favorable numbers for Trump. Additionally, some polls appear exaggerated or skewed toward conservative narratives, such as a survey suggesting broad approval of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and skepticism of COVID-19 vaccines. These examples illustrate why MBFC rates InsiderAdvantage as Right-Center Biased and Mixed for factual accuracy, despite FiveThirtyEight’s more favorable ratings.
