Analysis / Bias
Global Health NOW publishes highly evidence-based reporting focused on public health, medicine, infectious disease, vaccination, environmental health, and global health policy. Articles commonly cite peer-reviewed research, health agencies, medical experts, universities, and international organizations such as the World Health Organization.
The publication strongly supports mainstream scientific consensus. For example, How the EMA’s Steffen Thirstrup Is ‘Standing Up for Science’ focuses on combating vaccine misinformation and anti-science political claims. Similarly, its extensive climate-health coverage treats human-caused climate change as established science and emphasizes its effects on maternal health, infectious disease, food security, and vulnerable populations.
However, GHN also demonstrates a Left-Center advocacy orientation. Its coverage frequently emphasizes health equity, reproductive rights, climate action, global health funding, LGBTQ and migrant health, and government investment in public-health systems. For example, Funding Down, Temperatures Up: The Struggle to Protect Women in a Warming World advocates increased climate-adaptation funding and reproductive-health resources, while other opinion pieces criticize reductions in foreign aid and public-health programs.
GHN clearly labels opinion content, and its straight-news reporting is generally careful, well-sourced, and professionally written. The publication’s ideological lean primarily comes from story selection and advocacy around public-health policy rather than loaded or partisan reporting.
