Notes: Canada’s CP24 or CablePulse 24 is a 24-hour local news channel broadcasting since 1998. The channel is based in Toronto. CP24 particularly focuses on information on local news from the Greater Toronto Area and Southern Ontario, but they also cover national and international news. CP24 is owned by Bell Media.
According to an interview with The Toronto Star former political commentator Stephen LeDrew claimed he was fired because of an appearance on the Fox News Channel. CP24 states he was fired because of violating the non-competition clause of his contract. This may indicate a left leaning bias by CP24, however there isn’t clear evidence to support this.
In review, their world coverage utilizes least biased sources such as the Associated Press. CP24 demonstrates minimal bias in reporting coverage and story selection. For example “City councillor wants Donald Trump’s name removed from Toronto’s Trump Tower.” Overall, we rate CP24 Least Biased for news coverage and High for factual reporting. (M.
