RIGHT BIAS

These media sources are moderately to strongly biased toward conservative causes through story selection and/or political affiliation. They may utilize strong loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes), publish misleading reports and omit reporting of information that may damage conservative causes. Some sources in this category may be untrustworthy. See all Right Bias sources.

BrexitCentral is a news website and they state their mission as “BrexitCentral your one-stop shop for news, analysis, comment and insight of the UK’s departure from the EU. Promoting a positive vision of Britain after Brexit.”

Matthew Elliott is “Editor-at-Large” of BrexitCentral and according to their about page he also is the former political secretary to Timothy Kirkhope  who is the Chairman of the European Conservatives and Reformists.

In review, BrexitCentral publishes op-ed’s typically from former conservative MP’s or politicians such as “We can only reduce net migration once we’ve left the EU and taken back control of immigration policy”. Although the articles are very well written, typically they are poorly sourced or they utilize right leaning sources such as The Times of London.

When it comes to US politics they utilize emotionally loaded words such as “Brexit and the arrival of Trump signal the beginning of an exciting new era of closer and deeper US-UK relations.”

Overall, we rate BrexitCentral right biased due to story selection that favors the right and mixed factually due to poor sourcing and failing to provide any links backing their arguments. (M. Huitsing 2/11/2018)
