History

Established in 1979 as “The Paper” in Guerneville, Calif, the North Bay Bohemian is a weekly newspaper serving Sonoma and Napa counties. The Bohemian provides coverage of local news, arts, dining, and entertainment.

The publication changed its name to the Sonoma County Independent in 1993. In 2000, it rebranded as the North Bay Bohemian and is headquartered in Healdsburg, California. Metro publishes North Bay Bohemian free weekly, in wine country, as stated on the North Bay Bohemian’s about page.
