Analysis / Bias

RetailWire, a website with sponsored content in its “Resources” section, promotes specific products like cloud retail management solutions. It also republishes articles from various sources in its “Retail News” section, including  The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, MarketWatch, CNN, Business Insider, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, CNBC, Toronto Star, among others.

We reviewed several articles for bias and factuality. “Has Nike Learned It Just Can’t Do It With DTC Sales Alone?” provides a balanced discussion of Nike’s business strategies, citing Motley Fool as its source. “Shopify Dumps Trump’s Stores from its Platform” uses emotionally loaded language in its title, suggesting a negative portrayal of Former President Trump, and cites sources like uscp.gov and TechCrunch. The next article, “Retailers Call on Trump to End the National Chaos He Created,” also uses emotionally loaded language and presents Mr.Trump negatively. Given the word choices and use of credible sources, RetailWire is rated as Left-Center Biased with a High factual reporting rating due to proper sourcing.
