Analysis / Bias

The Orinoco Tribune has a clear left-leaning bias. It consistently supports anti-imperialist and Chavista perspectives (those who supported Hugo Chavez). The publication critiques U.S. policies and mainstream media narratives about countries opposing U.S. influence. Articles frequently defend the Venezuelan government and criticize opposition movements and foreign intervention.

Articles and headlines often contain emotionally charged language opposed to the so-called far-right of Venezuela, like this Far Right Plots to Sabotage Venezuela’s Electrical System in Attempt to Disrupt the Electoral Process. The story is translated from another source and lacks hyperlinked sourcing to support its claims.

When reporting on the USA, they hold strongly negative views on both the Republican and Democratic parties with quotes such as this: “The Republican party has been waging a blatantly racist campaign to criminalize migrants. Instead of pushing back on that narrative, the party that purports to be for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (Democrats) is exploiting this racist anger to discredit a country it has targeted for regime change—Nicaragua—apparently for not sufficiently suppressing the rights of migrants.”

In another story, Israel’s Doomed ‘De-Hamasification’ and Russia’s Winning ‘De-Nazification’ they promote pro-Kremlin propaganda that Russia is trying to de-Nazify Ukraine as justification for its invasion. This is a political conspiracy theory.

Typically, Orinoco Tribune exhibits an extreme left, socialist, pro-Chavista bias. The publication frequently critiques Western policies and media, promoting alternative perspectives aligned with anti-imperialist views. There is evidence of propaganda and conspiracy theory promotion, which limits their credibility.
