Analysis / Bias

DEEPER LOOK publishes political, geopolitical, intelligence, and historical analysis rather than conventional straight news. Sellers strongly supports established democratic institutions and frequently criticizes Donald Trump, MAGA politics, and Trump administration foreign policy.

In The True State of the Iran War Bears Little Resemblance to Trump’s Narrative, Sellers argues that Trump exaggerates U.S. leverage over Iran and examines competing evidence about military power, regional allies, oil markets, and Iranian strategy. The analysis is clearly critical of Trump but distinguishes confirmed information from Sellers’ own interpretation.

Sellers is also sympathetic to progressive economic arguments but does not uncritically endorse the progressive left. In El-Sayed Wins in Michigan, but “The Establishment Fights Back” Is the Bigger Story, he describes Abdul El-Sayed’s primary victory favorably while emphasizing that establishment Democrats remain politically competitive.

Likewise, The Rise of Blue MAGA Was Predictable—And Democrats Should Pay Attention argues that progressive populism reflects legitimate economic frustration while warning that it can become intolerant of compromise and internal disagreement.

Sourcing is generally strong. Sellers frequently provides direct links to AP, Reuters, Politico, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, BBC, polling organizations, court documents, and other established sources. However, much of his work moves beyond established facts into interpretation and geopolitical forecasting, where conclusions are necessarily more subjective.
