Factual Reporting: HIGH
Notes: Deadspin is a sports website owned by Univision Communications and was originally launched in September 2005. Deadspin includes two sub-sites that do not solely focus on sports: The humor section Adequate Man and The Concourse, which features articles on politics from a liberal perspective, music, food and culture. For the purpose of this review we will focus on The Concourse and their political bias. In review, Deadspin primarily reports sports news and occasional political news via their Concourse section. The Concourse has a left wing bias in story selection and through the use of loaded words in headlines and articles. While there is a clear left wing bias, the articles are sourced to mostly credible left leaning sources such as Propublica. Overall, we rate Deadspin Left biased in political reporting and High for factual reporting based on use of credible sources. (D. Van Zandt 10/18/2017)
