Trump Administration Approves Musk’s Grok AI Chatbot for Federal Use

The Trump administration has officially approved Elon Musk’s AI chatbot, Grok, for use across all federal agencies. The decision, made through the General Services Administration, comes amid criticism that Grok lacks proper safety testing and demonstrates ideological bias. xAI CEO Elon Musk praised the move, calling it a victory for American AI leadership. However, over 30 consumer advocacy groups had urged the Office of Management and Budget to block Grok’s approval, citing concerns over misinformation and partisanship. The chatbot previously faced backlash for spreading conspiracy theories and biased content, including antisemitic memes and misinformation during the 2024 election. New Jersey PBS to Shut Down Amid Severe Funding Cuts

NJ PBS, New Jersey’s only public TV station, will cease operations by mid-2026 due to massive funding cuts from both state and federal governments. Operated by WNET since 2011, the station recently saw its state funding slashed by 75% and the complete elimination of federal public media support. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting will also shut down in 2026 following $500 million in congressional budget cuts. Media experts warn that the closure will reduce media access and transparency for Garden State residents, especially given the decline of local newspapers. MSNBC and Sky News Form Global News Partnership

MSNBC has entered a multi-year content-sharing agreement with Sky News, enhancing its international reporting capabilities as it transitions into a new entity called MS NOW. Starting October 1, the deal gives MSNBC access to Sky News’ global network of 500 journalists across key international bureaus. This collaboration comes as MSNBC separates from NBC News and becomes part of Versant, a newly formed company. The agreement revives a previous partnership between the two networks and aligns with Sky News’ broader “Sky News 2030” transformation strategy.
