Pew Study: Americans Value Honesty and Expertise in News Providers

A new Pew Research Center study reveals that the majority of Americans prioritize honesty, authenticity, and subject expertise in their news sources. Over 80% of the 9,300 adults polled emphasized these traits as important. However, the definition of “authenticity” varied among participants, and was more often expected from podcasters and independent influencers than from traditional journalists. The study also found bipartisan support for accurate reporting and fact-checking public figures.
