Google Backs Nonprofit News with New AJP Partnership

Google is providing new support to the American Journalism Project (AJP) to boost the sustainability of local nonprofit news organizations. The funding, although unspecified in amount, will support an accelerator program under AJP’s Knight Resiliency Lab to help newsrooms expand their audiences through digital marketing. The initiative also aims to drive growth in earned revenue, talent development, product innovation, and AI integration. Bill Moyers, Veteran Journalist and Former White House Press Secretary, Dies at 91

Bill Moyers, a prominent figure in American journalism and a former press secretary to President Lyndon B. Johnson, died Thursday at the age of 91 following a prolonged illness. A founding figure in public broadcasting, Moyers helped establish the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and later became a celebrated broadcaster with CBS and PBS. Over his career, he earned 30 Emmys and several top journalism awards. Moyers was also known for his documentaries, including “The Secret Government,” which examined the Iran-Contra affair. Meta Defeats Mike Huckabee Lawsuit Over Fake CBD Ads

A federal judge has rejected former Governor Mike Huckabee’s attempt to revive his lawsuit against Meta Platforms, ruling that Huckabee failed to prove Meta knowingly hosted fake ads using his identity to sell CBD gummies. The court held that previous misuse of celebrity likenesses in similar ads was insufficient to infer Meta’s awareness in this specific case.
