Analysis / Bias
In review, American Lookout does not produce original news reporting, but rather provides a conservative opinion before quoting or linking to the full article from another source. Some of the sources they link to are the Mixed factual Daily Caller, the Questionable Breitbart, RedState, and Townhall. Wording denigrates Democrats such as this Democrats Panic As Suburban Vote Begins Slipping Away From Joe Biden, while other stories glorify Republican President Trump such as this President Trump Nominated For Nobel Peace Prize AGAIN For Helping Broker Deal Between Kosovo And Serbia. In general, all stories favor the right and mostly denigrate the left while consistently using very poor sources who frequently fail fact checks.
Failed Fact Checks
- “Starting Jan. 1 California residents can’t take shower, do laundry, poop in toilet, and flush on the same day.” – False
- “RATINGS DISASTER: CNN Doesn’t Make Top 10 Of Most Watched Cable Networks In 2018.” – Mostly False
Overall, we rate American Lookout Questionable due to the frequent use of poor sources that have failed fact checks, lack of transparency with ownership, one-sided reporting, and failed fact checks of their own. (D. Van Zandt 11/23/2016) Updated (9/12/2020)
