Analysis / Bias

In review, Check Your Fact tends to select fact checks that are more favorable to the Right. For example, they are more likely to select a True statement by a Republican and a False statement by a Democrat. This conveys a right leaning bias, but does not diminish the quality and veracity of the fact check. Check Your Fact uses appropriate neutral language in both headlines and articles such as this: FACT CHECK: DOES THE DEATH TAX ONLY APPLY TO ESTATES WORTH MORE THAN $11 MILLION?. Like all credible fact checkers they utilize proper sources and experts within the field to validate the claim they are fact checking.

As an accepted signatory of the IFCN, Media Bias Fact Check utilizes Check Your Fact to verify factual reporting of the sources we review.

Overall, we rate Check Your Fact, Right-Center Biased based on fact check selection that slightly favors the Right and High for factual reporting due to proper sourcing and adherence to credible fact checking principles. (D. Van Zandt 8/9/2018) Updated (4/18/2019)
