CNN on Tuesday filed a federal lawsuit against President Donald Trump and several top White House aides, alleging that they violated the First Amendment and Fifth Amendment rights of CNN and Jim Acosta in revoking the correspondent’s White House press pass after a contentious exchange at a news conference on Wednesday.
The network filed the suit in a Washington, D.C., district court, demanding “an immediate restraining order requiring the pass be returned” to Acosta.
