Founded in 1949, WUSA-TV  is a CBS-affiliated television station licensed to Washington, District of Columbia. The associated news website is WUSA9.com. The website covers local and national news as well as weather, sports, and crime.

On June 29, 2015, the Gannett Company split in two, with one side specializing in print media and the other side specializing in broadcast and digital media. WUSA was retained by the broadcasting company, which took the name TEGNA.
