Factual Reporting: HIGH

Founded by Christina Smith, What Matters News consists of a small group of left-leaning bloggers who describes their mission as “We are committed to fighting fake news. We always use proper hyperlinked sourcing or provide audio/video evidence”. What Matters News uses loaded words in their headlines and their story selection typically favors the left. However, they are highly factual and their articles have hyperlinks to verifiable sources or they provide audio/video links. Overall, What Matters News presents news with a left-wing bias in wording, story selection, and with somewhat sensational headlines, however, most of the news presented on this site is consistently factual and well-sourced.
