Analysis / Bias

Republic Bharat exhibits a Right-Wing Bias, particularly in its foreign affairs and national security coverage. The channel frequently adopts a nationalistic tone aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies and rhetoric and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The channel’s coverage often promotes anti-Pakistan narratives, exaggerates threats, and presents limited counterpoints.

In an article on Trump’s comments regarding the India–Pakistan ceasefire, the piece frames Donald Trump’s statements to emphasize that India denied any American involvement, aligning the narrative closely with the Indian government’s official position. Though Trump’s ambiguity is acknowledged, the article amplifies External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar’s criticism of Pakistan and avoids presenting Pakistan’s diplomatic perspective or international reactions. The report prioritizes quotes reinforcing India’s strategic legitimacy while minimizing U.S. nuance and regional complexity.

Similarly, the article “How is a new country formed? Balochistan declared independence from Pakistan” displays strong editorial framing. Although the headline declares Balochistan’s independence, the content acknowledges that no state has recognized such a declaration. The article references the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and its ongoing insurgency, presenting claims of exploitation by Pakistan and China without critical examination. No responses from Pakistani officials or international bodies are included, and the piece heavily implies that the Baloch cause is just and supported by Indian actions such as “Operation Sindoor,” despite the lack of official recognition. The narrative promotes a strategic weakening of Pakistan’s sovereignty and portrays India in a position of strength and legitimacy.

Both pieces lack balance and exhibit editorial slant through selective sourcing, emotionally charged language, and the absence of counter-narratives. This consistent pattern suggests that Republic Bharat reflects and amplifies state-aligned nationalist narratives.
