History

Founded in 1996, Quackwatch is a United States-based network of people founded by Stephen Barrett, which aims to “combat health-related frauds, myths, fads, fallacies, and misconduct” and to focus on “quackery-related information that is difficult or impossible to get elsewhere.” Quackwatch sites peer-reviewed journal articles and has received several awards. The site has been developed with the assistance of a worldwide network of volunteers and expert advisers.
