History

JeffTiedrich.com is the personal Substack opinion site of commentator Jeff Tiedrich. The main site front page is located at JeffTiedrich.com, with an “about” section where he describes himself as a “notorious loudmouth on the internet” and frames his newsletter, “everyone is entitled to my own opinion,” as a daily wrap-up of political news intended to provoke laughter and anger in readers, often using heavy profanity, as seen on his about page. Tiedrich also publishes political commentary at the long-running left-wing blog Smirking Chimp, which is previously reviewed by MBFC.

Analysis / Bias

Content on JeffTiedrich.com is almost entirely opinion, written in an overtly hostile, highly emotional, and profanity-filled style that strongly favors the political left and is intensely critical of Donald Trump, his administration, and Republican politicians.

In the piece “Preznit Fuckwit and his flunkies once again mishandle a tragedy,” Tiedrich repeatedly derides Trump and allies with phrases such as “Preznit Fuckwit,” “doughy pantload,” and “shitweasels,” while analyzing a shooting involving an Afghan immigrant and National Guard troops, and blaming Trump’s policies and rhetoric without offering neutral framing or sourcing.

Another essay, “Liddle Marco and his ace team of shitwits got played by Russia — again,” treats reporting about a Ukraine “peace plan” and alleged Russian influence as evidence of systemic incompetence, mocking Marco Rubio, Jared Kushner, and other officials and presenting the episode as a farcical failure with little attempt at balance.

In “good fucking riddance to Marjorie Taylor Greene,” Tiedrich uses extended personal insults and derisive nicknames to review Greene’s history and resignation.

Across the site, sourcing is usually implicit: Tiedrich often paraphrases or briefly quotes mainstream reporting, but articles rarely link systematically to underlying primary sources or opposing viewpoints. The combination of mocking tone, heavy use of profanity for both headlines and body text, and near-total lack of ideological diversity in story selection and framing results in very strong left-leaning, one-sided coverage.
