Their stated aim is to “monitor, research and counter hate groups by providing education, information, and resources. The Canadian Anti-Hate Network is a nonprofit organization funded through donations, crowdfunding, and a $268,400 grant from the Canadian Government’s Anti-Racism Action program. Further, they report a relationship with the Southern Poverty Law Center. The organization is run by a six-person board consisting of Chair Bernie Farber and Executive Director Evan Balgord. The Canadian Anti-Hate Network website (antihate.ca) publishes news and analyses on hate groups, crimes, and trends. Antihate.ca counters all forms of hate, such as racism, homophobia, and transphobia, primarily in Canada. They frequently use emotionally loaded language when reporting on right-wing extremism, such as RIGHT-WING FEAR MONGERING AROUND MAR-A-LAGO RAID REACHES CANADA. Articles and headlines rely on credible sources such as Reuters and Scientific American. Editorially, the Canadian Anti-Hate Network holds progressive left-leaning perspectives such as pro-choice on abortion LEAKED ROE V. WADE DECISION ENERGIZES ANNUAL ANTI-ABORTION MARCH. They also promote LGBTQ equity and opposition to antisemitism and Islamophobia. In general, they are an anti-hate activist group with a strong left-leaning bias that reports information factually. Overall, we rate the Canadian Anti-Hate Network left biased based on editorial positions that strongly favor the progressive left.
