TRUE	Claim via Social Media: Texas state Rep. James Talarico voted against SB 17, a bill meant to prevent China from buying land in Texas. Snopes rating: True (It’s true that Talarico voted nay on the bill in question, SB 17, even though he had previously voted in favor of continuing to amend its language. The final version of SB 17 included amendments that its opponents said would broaden it beyond its intended scope. A spokesperson for Talarico said he voted nay on the final version to prevent giving the governor more power. The bill ultimately passed and became law in September 2025.) MISLEADING	Claim by Jon Ossoff’s campaign: Mike Collins “wants to push you off Social Security” because he said people should “get off of Social Security, get back into the workforce.” FactCheck.org rating: Misleading (Collins did use those words, but the ad clipped the quote and omitted context that he was discussing tax cuts and work incentives, not explicitly proposing to force people off Social Security.) Snopes rating: False (The cited database counted many procedures unrelated to gender-affirming surgery, while peer-reviewed research found such surgeries among minors are rare and usually involve chest procedures for older teens.)
