Massie Confronts Fox News Reporter During Interview

AI Deepfakes Fuel Growing Share of Scams

A new Gallup and Stop Scams Alliance report found that artificial intelligence or deepfakes were involved in 12% of successful scams in 2025, though researchers believe the true figure may be higher due to the difficulty of identifying AI-generated fraud. The study estimates more than 15 million Americans fell victim to scams last year, resulting in approximately $68 billion in losses. Researchers also warned that increasingly sophisticated AI-powered fraud poses a growing threat, particularly for older adults who may have greater difficulty detecting deepfake content.
