Trump Media in Talks to Spin Off Truth Social

Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) announced it is in talks to spin off Truth Social into a newly publicly traded company following the anticipated close of its merger with nuclear fusion startup TAE Technologies. Under the proposed plan, TMTG businesses including Truth Social would merge with Texas Ventures Acquisition III Corp., a blank-check company, with pre-merger TMTG shareholders receiving shares in the new entity. The combined TMTG-TAE company would retain TMTG’s balance sheet and TAE’s fusion technology, creating what executives describe as “two pure play companies” with distinct strategies. Veteran CBS Producer Alleges Political Bias in Farewell Memo

Anthropic to Challenge Pentagon Over AI Blacklisting

AI company Anthropic said it will challenge the Pentagon in court after being threatened with a “supply chain risk” designation for refusing to remove safeguards on its AI model, Claude, for military use. The dispute centers on Defense Department demands to deploy the model for all lawful purposes, including classified operations, without adhering to company-imposed restrictions related to mass surveillance and autonomous weapons. Anthropic argues that federal statute 10 USC 3252 limits such designations strictly to Pentagon contracts and does not extend to broader commercial customers, who the company says remain unaffected.
