Gallup Finds U.S. Trust in Media Hits Historic Low at 28%

Gallup released a new survey on October 2, 2025, revealing that only 28% of Americans now trust the media, a sharp decline from 40% five years ago. The survey, based on 1,000 adult respondents, shows a widening partisan divide: just 8% of Republicans trust the media, compared to 21% of independents and 51% of Democrats. Even among Democrats, trust has dropped significantly, particularly among younger generations. Apple Removes ICEBlock App After DOJ Cites Threat to Agent Safety

Apple has removed the ICEBlock app from its App Store following concerns raised by U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Department of Justice. The app, which allowed users to track Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and had over one million downloads, was linked to a surge in threats against ICE personnel, including a deadly shooting at a Dallas ICE facility. DOJ officials cited a 500% increase in assaults on ICE agents and argued the app posed significant safety risks. Apple complied, stating the removal was based on safety assessments. Journalist Deported Despite Legal Status; Press Advocates Condemn Action

Mario Guevara, a journalist covering immigration and protests, was deported to El Salvador after being held in U.S. detention for over 100 days. Though his criminal charges were dropped and he had valid work authorization, a 13-year-old deportation order was reinstated by the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Guevara’s legal team claims the deportation was retaliatory and infringed on press freedom.
