AP Files Second Lawsuit Against Trump White House Over Press Access

The Associated Press (AP) is renewing its legal battle against the Trump administration, asking a federal judge to immediately reinstate its access to presidential events. AP alleges that the White House has escalated its retaliation after the news outlet refused to follow Trump’s executive order renaming the Gulf of Mexico. The amended lawsuit, filed Monday, details instances of AP journalists being denied access, including photographers blocked from covering Air Force One’s arrival. The administration argues that while AP is not banned from the White House grounds, access to the president is at the administration’s discretion. Disney Lays Off 200 Employees, Shuts Down FiveThirtyEight

The Walt Disney Company is cutting approximately 200 employees across ABC News and its entertainment networks in a strategic restructuring effort. Tom Llamas to Replace Lester Holt as NBC Nightly News Anchor

NBC News has appointed Tom Llamas as the new anchor of NBC Nightly News, succeeding Lester Holt this summer. Llamas, 45, has been Holt’s primary substitute since joining NBC from ABC in 2021. He will also continue to host his streaming newscast, Top Story, on NBC News Now. Holt, who led Nightly News for a decade, will remain with NBC as a correspondent for Dateline NBC. Llamas’ appointment marks a shift in the evening news landscape, as David Muir remains the longest-serving anchor at ABC World News Tonight, while CBS has replaced Norah O’Donnell with John Dickerson and Maurice DuBois.
