Google Will Update Maps with Gulf and Mountain Name Changes If U.S. Government Makes It Official

Google has stated that it will not update the names of the Gulf of Mexico and Denali on its mapping platform unless the U.S. government officially changes their names. The announcement follows President Donald Trump’s orders to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the “Gulf of America” and Denali back to “Mount McKinley.” Google says it adheres to official updates from the Geographic Names Information System (GNIS). Perplexity AI Proposes 50% U.S. Government Ownership in TikTok

Startup Perplexity AI has made its second bid to purchase TikTok, suggesting a $300 billion initial public offering with the U.S. government owning 50% of the platform. While former President Donald Trump expressed support for TikTok, the app remains banned in U.S. app stores, although pre-installed versions are still operational.
