BREAKING: Trump issues first veto of his presidency, rejecting measure to overturn border declaration

President Donald Trump issued the first veto of his presidency on Friday, rejecting Congress’s resolution to override his declaration of a national emergency on the southern border.

In a rare rebuke enabled by members of the president’s own party, the GOP-controlled Senate voted 59-41 on Thursday to approve a measure already passed by the House that would revoke Trump’s national emergency declaration.
