YourNews lacks transparency as they do not clearly describe ownership. However, at the footer of each page, it lists YourNews Media Group, Inc as to the copyright. They are presumed to be owned by Sam Anthony. Advertising generates revenue.
Analysis / Bias
YourNews provides user-published news stories that are usually summaries of existing news stories. They also have a local news feature to input your zip code to display local news. I tried multiple zip codes but never saw any local news stories. Perhaps the zip codes I tried did not have news? Finally, they also have an Android app for news delivery.
Articles and headlines use moderately loaded emotional wording such as this Nike Executives Funneled Money To Democrat Who Just Blocked Uyghur Forced Labor Bill. In this case, the headline is the same as the original source, The Daily Caller. In reviewing dozens of articles, we found that most are either summaries or partial posting of other news sources. Further, we analyzed their sources and determined that some come from credible sources such as Reuters; however, the majority come from right-biased questionable sources such as Newsmax, Epoch Times, and Breitbart.
Editorially, most stories align with the right. We also found cases where they published anti-vaccine propaganda such as this Pro-vaccine fanaticism is an infectious disease itself. This story originates from Natural News, which is considered one of the least credible sources on the internet. In general, YourNews is strongly right-biased and frequently uses poor sources which fail fact checks.
