Analysis / Bias
In review, Trending Views covers news and politics from a right-leaning conservative perspective. News is not originally reported, but rather summarized with additional conservative commentary added. Articles and headlines often contain emotionally loaded language such as this Sheriff Clarke squashes CNN’s Don Lemon with a reality check. This story is sourced to a video clip from CNN and uses denigrating language such as this “Why can’t Don Lemon participate in the conversation like an adult?” A review of story selection shows that all favor the right and tends to denigrate the left. When it comes to sourcing they generally rely on video clips that connect to mostly credible sources such as CNBC, but sometimes they utilize sources that frequently fail fact checks such as Townhall. In general, Trending Views reports with a strong right-leaning bias and sometimes promotes misleading claims. For example, they published a story with this headline, Howard Caplan Asks Joe Biden Why He Molested All Those Girls. To date, there isn’t any evidence to implicate Joe Biden.
