Founded in 1866, The Telegram & Gazette (and Sunday Telegram) is the only daily newspaper (broadsheet) of Worcester, Massachusetts. It also covers the surrounding areas of the western suburbs of Boston, and several towns in Windham County in northeastern Connecticut.

The Telegram & Gazette is owned by Gatehouse Media, which owns over 100 small and mid-market newspapers across the USA. The newspaper is funded through advertising and subscription fees.

Analysis / Bias

In review, the Telegram & Gazette covers local news through staff writers with minimal bias such as this: Suspect in Webster home invasion is held without bail. National and world news comes via the Associated Press. Editorially, the Telegram & Gazette has typically endorsed Republican candidates for President, however in 2008 they endorsed Democratic candidate Barack Obama. A review of their commentary page shows a good balance of opinions between right and left with zero extremes. In general, the T&G reports straight news with minimal bias and their editorials are also reasonably balanced.
