These media sources are slightly to moderately conservative in bias. They often publish factual information that utilizes loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes) to favor conservative causes. These sources are generally trustworthy for information, but may require further investigation. See all Right-Center sources.
Factual Reporting: HIGH
Notes: Founded in 2001, NTD.TV (Not to be confused with Australian NTD (TV station) or New Tang Dynasty Television is a New York-based television broadcaster. According to their about page NTD’s mission is “At NTD we believe the integrity of our world hinges on the accurate and truthful spreading of information.” NTD.TV is founded by a group of Chinese-American Falun Gong practitioners which supports social conservatism, segregated paradises and anti-communism according to RationalWiki. The Wall Street Journal states that Falun Gong also owns the Epoch Times. However, a SF Gate article suggests that Executives at the Epoch Times, New Tang Dynasty and Sound of Hope deny they represent the movement. The Chinese Government considers the movement a cult and they state “NTD.TV claims to be an independent public media organization serving Chinese people all over the world. But, in essence, it is a mouthpiece of ‘Falun Gong’ in cult and anti-China propaganda.”
NTD.TV’s primary focus topics are news, cultural shows, educational programs, sports and entertainment.
In review, NTD.TV uses minimally loaded emotional language in their headlines such as “Vice President Pence to Mueller Investigation: Very Respectfully, It’s Time to Wrap Up “and “Mueller’s Russian Troll Case Returns to Bite Him as One Defendant Shows up for Trial.“ New Tang Dynasty Television sources to their right-center biased sister news media company the Epoch Times and they also republish articles from Reuters. Editorially, NTD.TV supports conservative issues.
Overall, we rate NTD.TV High for factual reporting due to use of credible sources and Right-Center biased. However, news reporting about the Chinese Government is biased in their opposition to the current government. (M. Huitsing 5/11/2018)
