History
Meidas+ is the premium membership platform associated with the MeidasTouch Network, a progressive political media organization founded in 2020 by brothers Ben, Brett, and Jordan Meiselas. Originally launched as an anti-Trump Super PAC under Democracy Defense Action, the organization evolved into a large independent digital media network focused on politics, law, culture, and commentary. The network describes itself as “100% unapologetically pro-democracy” and openly rejects “both-sides media.” Contributors include Ron Filipkowski, Aaron Parnas, Joe Plenzler, and other left-leaning commentators and legal analysts.

Funded by / Ownership
Meidas+ and the broader MeidasTouch Network are operated by the Meiselas brothers through Democracy Defense Action. Revenue is generated through subscriptions, donations, podcasts, merchandise sales, YouTube monetization, and paid memberships via Substack. The organization states it is independent from corporate media influence, though it maintains a clearly activist editorial mission. Additional financial transparency regarding the PAC structure is available through FEC filings and OpenSecrets.
Analysis / Bias
Meidas+ publishes strongly opinion-driven political commentary that overwhelmingly favors Democrats and opposes Donald Trump, Republicans, MAGA politics, and conservative media narratives. The language used is frequently emotionally charged, adversarial, and activist-oriented.
For example, Tuesday Afternoon News Updates: Trump’s Golden Ballroom Cannot Stop a War includes loaded phrasing such as “Trump’s global standing crumbles,” “Todd Blanche melts down,” and references to a “slush fund.” Another article, What Trump and Hegseth Are Hiding From You About the War With Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, and More… frames U.S. foreign policy through a highly critical anti-Trump lens while presenting speculative military and intelligence analysis. Although the article cites an experienced New York Times Pentagon correspondent, its conclusions are frequently framed in dramatic or partisan terms.
The publication also strongly advocates progressive public health and institutional narratives. In America Is Not Ready for the Next Pandemic — and a Leading Public Health Expert Explains Why, the reporting relies on credentialed experts and legitimate public health discussion, but the framing consistently criticizes Republican governance and Trump-era policy decisions.
While many articles reference credible mainstream sources such as Reuters, The New York Times, public health experts, or government data, the network’s presentation is heavily opinionated and selectively framed. Headlines are often sensationalized, emotionally loaded, or crafted to reinforce partisan conclusions.
