History

Journalistenwatch.com (JouWatch) is a Germany-based website founded in 2011 by journalist Thomas Böhm. Its stated aim is to provide media criticism and a platform for alternative viewpoints. The site gained prominence for its far-right populist perspectives, frequently addressing topics such as immigration, Islam, climate policies, and COVID-19 measures. However, the website lacks transparency.

Funded by / Ownership

The site is owned by Conny Axel Meier, who is associated with Pax Europa, an organization opposing the “Islamization of Europe.” Previously, JouWatch was owned by Journalistenwatch e.V., an association for media criticism founded by Thomas Böhm. The website is funded through reader donations. Past funding included contributions from the Middle East Forum, an American think tank, though current funding sources remain unclear. 

Analysis / Bias
