The Institute for Public Service Reporting Memphis is a nonprofit news publication based in Memphis, Tennessee. According to its about page, “The Institute is housed in the Edward J. Meeman Journalism Building on the University of Memphis campus and works closely with the Department of Journalism and Strategic Media. Our focus is deeply researched watchdog journalism and narrative, documentary journalism distributed through variety of local, regional and national media partners.“
The Institute for Public Service Reporting Memphis subscribes to the standards of editorial independence adopted by the Institute for Nonprofit News, which currently has 450 members. The Institute for Nonprofit News (INN) is a consortium founded in 2009 to support nonprofit journalism focused on investigative and public service reporting.
