Greece Fact Check is a Greece-based fact-checking organization that investigates claims circulating in media and social platforms and combats misinformation within Greece and Cyprus. FactChecker.gr is a member of the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO) and the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN). The organization addresses false claims, misleading narratives, public policies, fraud, conspiracy theories, pseudoscience, alternative therapies, and AI-driven misinformation.

One example of its work is the exposure of a Facebook scam promoting Hondrostrong a product falsely claiming significant health benefits. The investigation revealed fake testimonials and misleading advertisements designed to deceive consumers. Similarly, Greece Fact Check frequently tackles viral misinformation related to international events. It addressed claims that Abu Mohammad al-Julani’s father was allegedly a Mossad agent, debunking this widely circulated conspiracy theory after finding no credible evidence to support it.
Expanding its focus to technological misinformation, the organization investigated an AI-generated image falsely claiming to depict ancient Greek mosaics found in Turkey.
