Founded in 1884, The News-Press is a daily broadsheet newspaper located in Fort Myers, Florida, serving primarily Lee County, as well as parts of Hendry, Collier, and Charlotte Counties. The current editor is Cindy McCurry-Ross.

The News-Press of Fort Myers was purchased by Gannett Company in 1971. Although Gannett still owns the News-Press, it is likely Gatehouse Media will purchase Gannett during this year. The newspaper is funded through adverting and subscription fees.
